Tuure & Oscar – Tough Ass Soul Brothers

Tuure Kilpeläinen and Knucklebone Oscar have developed a unique Soul & Blues Special! The duo’s performance feels very natural and brings to mind the good old Blues Brothers; these showmen, who love roots music, entertain with their favorite blues and soul songs.

The repertoire includes the swingiest uptempo tracks and the most sizzling ballads, but without any worn-out or obvious choices. The guys alternate vocal duties, joke around, and have a great time, while Oscar’s tight live band crowns and elevates the performance. Freshly, like it was a tough sentence at Chicago Cook County Jail in 1971.

The collaboration started in the spring of 2024 with the release of a joint single, resulting in a grippingly gritty version of the 1970s soul hit “(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don’t Want to Be Right.” The partnership deepened further last spring through substitute gigs for the late Eero Raittinen, who was a mentor to the guys. Live, they’ve found their own angle, an old-school expression that encompasses wild and urban sounds, yet remains strongly traditional, not a dull carbon copy. This is something you need to experience!
