Grant-Lee Phillips
Rolling Stone magazine named Grant-Lee Phillips the Best Male Singer in 1995. He is considered one of the most significant songwriters of his generation, and his skilled guitar playing has been compared to legends like Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Dylan. Phillips became familiar to television audiences through the hit series “Gilmour’s Girls,” where he appeared as the town troubadour.
A global audience first discovered Phillips’s music in the 1990s through the albums of the band Grant Lee Buffalo, which rose to great popularity. The band is known for hits like “Fuzzy” and “Mockingbirds.” In the 2000s, Phillips moved to a solo career focusing on folk and Americana music, offering stories rich in detail and humanity.
Phillips will perform at Ylläs Jazz Blues on Sunday, January 25, at 4 PM.
